Best known as the creator of the famed comic strip The Seated Woman, Copi co-founded the theatrical group Pánico with Alejandro Jodorowsky, wrote for Hari-Kiri (the predecessor to Charlie Hebdo), and his play Another Evita so enraged Argentine expat Peronists that they stormed the premiere performance, destroyed the sets, and nearly burned down the theater.
